Rock Diagram

So, in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame there are the worthy, and the unworthy. These roughly split into two categories each.

First, you have the Essential artists, who are deserving because they were innovative, highly talented, and almost always influential. The other Worthies are very talented musicians or songwriters, but not innovative, or they can be innovative, but not well-known.

Next best are the Popular, whom I don't really mind, but whose inclusion is due more to their popularity, without being exceptionally talented and definitely not innovative – major bands who didn’t change much, but are in the Hall of Fame because of how widespread they were/are. Lastly, the Unworthy are those acts who maybe weren’t talented, or were but had brief or unimportant careers – in the long run, minor artists.

Put another way: You *need* to have recordings from the Essentials, *should* have recordings from the Worthy, *probably* have recordings from the Popular, and *can* have recordings from the Unworthy. I guess. If you want.

I have diagrammed them for you, to make it easy to see. You're welcome.
