Some movies just capture a time period really well - and that's especially impressive when the movie was made in the same decade they portray. Roughly ten years ago I posted an okay list of such films, but I realized it could, and should, be updated. The following aren't necessarily the best films of their decades - but they are the best depiction of their times. Each era's list also includes a foreign film (italicized), so as to avoid only portraying the American experience.
